Description
Bulk superconducting oxides, YBa2(Cu1-xMx)307-δ where M is a metallic element, were successfully prepared by conventional firing technique. Some aspects of characterization were studied. The effect of prolonged milling time showed a positive tendency for the formation of regular shape crystallites. Structural phase transition due to the effect of doping could be determined by comparing the intensity peaks of the X-ray diffraction for the 20 deflection between 32.000 to 33.000. The effect of tin substitution in YBaCuO was to lower Tc but impeded the degradation of the material due to moisture. However iron doping showed a sharp of decrease in Tc. The measurements of the magnitude of Meissner effect using a force technique were also discussed
