Description
I will first review the earlyhistory of muon spin rotation/relaxation/resonance (μSR), from its origins in elementary particle physicsthrough its applications in fundamental physics, chemistry and materials science. Then I will review the more recentdevelopment of μSR facilities, modern muon beams and advanced techniques that have made μSR an indispensibletool for molecular and materials science, focusing on (but not restricted to) those pioneered at TRIUMF
