Acceleration of pellets in gasdynamic injectors
- 1. M. I. Kalinin Polytechnic Institute, Leningrad
Description
The acceleration of pellets is considered in a channel of constant cross section, and analytic expressions are derived for the pellet velocity at the exit of the channel and for the minimum discharge of the accelerating gas; the results are used to optimize the design of a gasdynamic injector. The injector for the Tuman-3 tokamak is described, and the properties and this and several other injectors agree closely with the calculated results for both turbulent and viscous molecular gas flows in the acceleration channel
