Minijets and B-pairs: analytic and numeric results for small x dominated processes

Description
We can accurately approximate the gluon distribution by a simple power law for processes dominated by small-x physics (such as minijets and diffractive processes). This form is motivated by Regge theory and by considering the stability of the Altarelli-Parisi evolution at small Q2. We give analytic and numeric results for both massless and massive minijet differential cross sections, and find a simple scaling behavior in the asymptotic limit. Our results compare favorably with the total jet cross sections reported by UA1. (orig.)
