Jets in high transverse energy pp interactions
Description
Event structure in √s = 63 GeV pp collisions was studied as a function of transverse neutral energy E0/sub T/ in a electromagnetic calorimeter covering 90% of 2π in azimuth and +- 1 unit of pseudorapidity eta about eta=0. The spectrum dN/dE0/sub T/ falls exponentially until about 20 GeV, after which the decrease with energy is less steep. At values of E0/sub T/ beyond 15 GeV the structure of the event becomes successively more dominated by a two-jet structure. Some characteristics of these events are discussed
