Effect of initial barium-containing reagents on phase formation during YBa2Cu3Oy synthesis
Description
Method of high-temperature X-ray phase analysis was used to study phase formation during YBa2Cu3Oy synthesis from mixtures, containing BaCO3 or BaO2. It was established that substitution of BaO2 for BaCO3 didn't lead to sufficient change to phase formation mechanism. Phase transformations in BaCO3 and BaO2 were investigated by means of DTA and high-temperature X-ray phase analysis. It is shown that these transformations dictate the initial and final stage of YBa2Cu3Oy synthesis
