Nuclear structure of neutron deficient 111Sb

Description

Two experiments were performed to populate high-spin states in the Z=51 isotope 111Sb. At Stony Brook the reaction 96Ru(19F,2p2n) at 90 MeV with a backed target was used, and at Chalk River 92Mo(23Na,2p2n) at 120 MeV with a thin target. Three rotational structures were found. An interesting ΔI=2 band is assigned the configuration is 02+direct-product πh11/2; the 02+ state is the deformed 2p2h state in the 50110Sn core. Related structures have been reported in other odd-mass Sb nuclei. This band has been observed up to a spin of 83/2 and rotational frequency of 1 MeV. The observed 2-qp alignments and the behavior of the J(2) moment of inertia at high frequencies will be discussed. Also observed were two ΔI=1 bands involving the (πg9/2)-1 configuration
