Local field effect in strongly coupled, classical one-component plasma
- 1. Tokyo Univ. (Japan). Dept. of Physics
Description
Internal consistency and accuracy of various approximation schemes for the calculation of the local field correction in a strongly coupled plasma are investigated through numerical comparison with the exact Monte Carlo data for the static structure factor. The essential necessity of renormalizing the screening function in accord with the ion-sphere model is thereby demonstrated. A rigorous expression for the local field correction is obtained in terms of the pair and triple correlation functions. (author)
