Hα variations in the spectra of the brighter, northern Be stars
Creators
- 1. Perkins Observatory, Ohio State and Ohio Wesleyan Universities
Description
Photoelectric scans of Hα in the spectra of 35 bright Be stars accessible from Flagstaff, Arizona, were obtained during five observing periods in 1975--1977 with the Perkins 72 inch (1.8 m) reflector. Variations in total emission and/or line profile were detected for most of the stars on time scales of months. Evidence of variability from night to night and, in a few cases, during a night was also found, but the reality of such short-term changes is less certain
