Fusion-relevant ion-neutral reactions at low energies

Creators

Description

A series of reactions between ions and atomic- as well as molecular hydrogen taking place in near-wall layers of fusions plasmas have been investigated in the energy range of 300 K to 0.1 eV. The reaction kinetics data of CHi++H and of CHi++H2 systems (i=0 to 5) indicate that when using graphite as a limiter material there will be no substantial methane synthesis via ion-neutral reactions. 13 refs., 4 figs.
