Addendum to the code of practice for electron beam dosimetry in radiotherapy (1985): interim additional recommendations

In 1985, the HPA code of practice for electron beam dosimetry in radiotherapy recommended procedures for the measurement of absorbed dose to water in an electron beam using ionization chambers calibrated in terms of air kerma in a phantom exposed to a beam of Co60 radiation. Production of the recommended Vinten 631 ionization chamber has now ceased and this note records the recommendations of the current U.K. IPSM Working Party concerning additional recommendations on other suitable chambers as an addendum to the 1985 code.
