On some consequences of the Smith model
Description
Energies of electrons (γmsub(e)csup(2)) in the frame of reference associated with the pulsar are evaluated on the basis of the Smith mechanism. It is concluded that the dipole model of magnetic field is inconsistent with the observations because for some pulsars γ<1. It is shown that γ is not constant in the radiation zone and that radiation emitted from this zone is not monochromatic
