Black holes coupled to time-dependent scalar fields in the Kaluza-Klein theory
Description
In terms of the five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein theory we study the time-dependent behaviour of a massless scalar field near the event horizon. It is shown that as a result of the nonlinear effect the scalar field increases with time. Consequently the extra dimension becomes fully visible. Some implications of this process are briefly discussed. (author)
