Dielectric and magnetic behavior of nanocrystalline Cu0.4Co0.6Fe2O4 ferrite

  • 1. Department of Physics, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur 302012 (India)

Description

The mixed copper cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (Cu0.4Co0.6Fe2O4) have been synthesized by sol-gel auto combustion route with aqueous metal nitrates and citric acid as the precursor. The crystal structure has been analyzed by X-Ray diffraction (XRD) method. XRD reveals the formation of single phase cubic spinel structure. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) is used for morphological studies. The dielectric measurements at room temperature show the decrease in dielectric constant with increasing frequency which is attributed to Maxwell Wagner model and conduction mechanism in ferrites. The magnetic measurements show ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature and large coercivity is observed on cooling down the temperature to 20 K.
