Description

Research carried out in the Environmental Control Project of the 'Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura' (CENA), Piracicaba , Sao Paulo State, Brazil, is described. Such research comprises: determination of ions and metals in waters from different sources; survey of the mineralogical composition of Amazon Basin rivers; development of specific methodologies for the determination of minerals in studies of mineral nutrition of plants and animal nutrition; development of methodologies for the determination of wood sample density, a nuclear method being developed to be applied to field conditions; study of the water flux mouvement within wood. Descrevem-se as pesquisas desenvolvidas pelo CENA no 'Projeto Controle Ambiental'. Estas pesquisas abrangem: determinacao de ions e metais em diversos tipos de agua; levantamento da composicao mineralogica de rios da Bacia Amazonica; desenvolvimento de metodologias especificas para determinacao de minerais para fins de aplicacao em estudos de nutricao mineral de plantas e nutricao animal' desenvolvimento de metodologias para determinacao de densidade em amostras de madeira, sendo desenvolvido metodo para aplicacao as condicoes de campo; estudos de movimentacao dos fluxos de agua na madeira.
