Stroboscopic device for signal recording from a time-of-flight mass spectrometer

Description

Described is the device permitting to narrow the wide-band frequency range of a signal of time-of-flight mass spectrometer and essentially suppress accompanying noises. The device differs from known devices by construction of delay and gatet pulse autoshift units. This units are constructed out on the base of microelectronic circuits that allow to obtain precise data on signal time in a digital form (consequently on mass number) and also to choose for registration any-mass-spectrum section or several sections simultaneously. Moreover, the above device is very convenient for mass spectrometer joining with a computer and simplifies the control of mass spectrometer registration. The described stroboscopic device allows to register signals in a frequency band up to 25 MHz and with repetition frequency less or equal 20 KHz. Registration time of a signal which is under the effect of noise may be diminished from tens of minutes to several seconds when gaining in a signal-noise ratio 100 times
