Magnetic resonance imaging: present status and future perspectives

Creators

  • 1. Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London (UK)

Description

The present status of MRI imaging in the U.K. is reviewed for those radiologists who are not yet directly involved in an active centre, but increasingly called upon to assess MRI images, individual patient needs for MRI examinations, and needs of the technique in a particular hospital. Technical aspects are dealt with under the following headings: basic physics of the technique, image choice and interpretation, systemic disease evaluation, differential and comparative diagnosis, present technical developments and future directions, particularly in relation to the radiologists' work.
