Study of crystallization of beryl glasses using paramagnetic sound
- 1. Ural'skij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Sverdlovsk (USSR)
Description
Paramagnetic sound (Ti3+) method is applied to studying the processes of beryl stable phase crystallization in glass of stoichiometric 3BeO·Al2O3·6SiO2 composition glasses. Ti3+ ions used as a paramagnetic sound at nucleation stage occupy octahedral positions (Ti3+→Al3+) in the structure of primary crystalline beryl nuclei. Paramagnetic Ti3+ center ESR signal intensity is proportional to beryl crystal nuclei concentration
