Northeast Utilities (NU) efforts to construct the third Millstone nuclear facility is a clear example of the economic difficulties facing the nuclear industry today. NU is a holding company consisting of Hartford Electric Light Company and Connecticut Light and Power, which together serve most of Connecticut, plus Western Massachusetts Electric Company.
