Description
We consider additional light (at mass scale M/sub w/) scalar bosons with and without color in SU(5) theories. The colored bosons can match the proton lifetime with the recent experimental limits, while keeping sin2theta/sub W/ in the observed region in ordinary SU(5) theories, but not in supersymmetric SU(5) theories. The uncolored bosons can reconcile the proton lifetime and sin2theta/sub W/ in supersymmetric SU(5) theories, but not in ordinary SU(5) theories
