Description

The industrial means which can be employed by the merallurgist to improve the ductility of steels are described. Carbon and alloy steels (less than 10% of alloy additions are studied. Changes in ductility characteristics are observed, especially impact strength and NDT (Nil Ductility Temperature), as a function of fabrication factors: production process, fabrication (rolling, forging), heat treatment, welding, stress relief heat treatment etc

Abstract (French)

On decrit les moyens industriels que le metallurgiste peut utiliser pour ameliorer la ductilite des aciers. Le probleme est pose dans le domaine des aciers au carbone et allies (moins de 10% d'elements d'alliages). On examine l'evolution des caracteristiques de ductilite, surtout la resilience et la N.D.T. (Nil Ductility Temperature) en fonction des facteurs de fabrication: mode d'elaboration, transformation (laminage, forgeage), traitement thermique, soudage, traitement thermique de detensionnement, etc.
