Electrical resistivity of liquid Cu-Eu and Cu-Gd alloys

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev (Ukraine). Inst. Problem Materialovedeniya

Description

Electrical resistivity of liquid Cu-Eu and Cu-Gd alloys has been measured using the four-probe method within the copper rich concentration region through the temperature interval 1200-1500 K. The resistivity of the studied melts increases very strongly with increasing lanthanoid concentration and does not appear to show a significant variation with temperature. The maximal value of resistivity for the Cu-Gd melts was found to be near 239 μΩ cm at 40 at. % gadolinium. (orig.)
