Quantitative analysis of thermal diffuse X-ray scattering on single crystals. Communication 1. BCC metals
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk (Russian Federation). Inst. Fiziki Metallov
Description
Single crystal plates of Nb and Mo were irradiated by monochromatic MoKalpha-radiation to obtain intensity profiles of X-ray scattering during crystals scanning in various ways in reciprocal state. Theoretical interpretation of wide diffuse maxima is presented using earlier developed concept about cooperative thermal oscillations. Numerical calculation of main physical parameters of oscillations is made, namely, correlation length, amplitude and a parameter characterizing correlation of relative motion of parallel objects. All mentioned parameters should be considered in combination. 11 refs., 2 figs
