Properties of materials in hydrogen
Description
The various kinds of damage to metallic materials of construction induced by hydrogen are described and their effects illustrated. A detailed account is given of the individual processes leading to the adsorption and absorption of diffusable atomic hydrogen and also of the various damage mechanisms, such as embrittlement, hydride formation, blistering and cracking, delayed rupture, and stress corrosion. Die verschiedenen Arten der durch Wasserstoff an metallischen Werkstoffen induzierten Schaeden werden beschrieben und ihre Auswirkungen dargestellt. Naeher eingegangen wird auf die einzelnen Prozesse, die zur Adsorption und Absorption von diffusionsfaehigem atomarem Wasserstoff fuehren und auf die unterschiedlichen Schadensmechanismen, wie Versproedung, Hybridbildung, Blasen- und Rissbildung, verzoegerter Bruch und Spannungsrisskorrosion.
