Investigation of dehydration of scandium (3) chloride hydrates
Description
Dehydration regularities of scandium(3) chloride various compositions were studied by means of DTA. ScCl3x6H2O and ScCl3x3KClx6H2O are shown to be in sequence transformed into 4- and 2-aqua compounds. Simultaneous elimination of aqua closing molecular and hydrolysis occur over 252 and 284 deg C. Dehydration of scandium and aluminium chloride containing compounds is practically free from hydrolysis. Thermolysis of the given compounds occurs in three stages with production of aqua-free scandium chloride
