Dilution probe for an aerosol mass monitor

Description

A special probe dilutes high-concentration aerosols to concentrations within the range of the mass monitor, to which it is attached. Tests have established that probe sample losses are less than 2.5% and that sample rates of the system are constant. A preliminary calibration of the system with spent oil shale aerosols yielded a sensitivity of 1 mV per 6 ng of sample collected, whereas the theoretical calibration of the mass monitor is 1 mV per 1.4 ng of sample
