Description
Diffractive ep scattering is considered based on the notion of a pomeron structure function. A large gluon content and small size of the pomeron leads to a strong non-linear QCD effect in the Q2-evolution of this structure function, as described by the Gribov-Levin-Ryskin equation. The cross sections are found to be large enough at HERA for this effect to be observable. (orig.)
