Description
Several studies have reported decreased or loss of pendrin expression in thyroid tumours, demonstrating role of pendrin in impaired ability of thyroid cancer cells to uptake and concentrate iodine; representing a major therapeutic challenge in thyroid cancer management. Therefore, study of pendrin expression in cancerous tissues is of interest. Considering this, we focused on the development of chemically induced thyroid cancer model in Wistar rats (n=18) to evaluate the pendrin expression. N-bis- (2-hydroxypropyl) nitrosamine (DHPN) at dose rate of 83 mg/animal (n=10) was administered by i/p route
