Description
Numerical results are presented for the effects of thermal imbalance on the pulsational stability of one of Gingold and Faulkner's thermally unstable helium-shell-burning models. These effects, though nonnegligible, are considerably smaller than the effects of the nuclear reactions, and do not significantly modify Gingold and Faulkner's qualitative conclusions. The physical interpretation of the stability coefficient is briefly discussed, and the ease of including the effects of thermal imbalance in the stability calculations is pointed out. headings: instabilities - pulsation - stellar evolution
