Model relating PCT boron release to HLW glass composition

Description
Waste glass compositions vary as a result of the changing composition of waste and optimization objectives of the formulation. An optimum glass will consider the expense along with other aspects of the glass and process. Glass properties, such as viscosity, are functions of glass composition via glass structure. Glass durability, the resistance of glass to corrosion by aqueous media, is an exception. It is a complex phenomenon that only partially depends on glass structure. Two first-order models were fitted to PCT normalized boron release data from simulated nuclear waste glasses. The first model was fitted 1641 compositions and provides coefficients for 39 glass components. The second model was fitted to 1554 glasses and 17 components.
