Description

The stability and residual signal of LiF:Mg,Cu,P (GR-200) chips was studied as a function of maximum temperature of readout between 240oC and 280oC. With an initialisation-readout routine, the sensitivity of the GR-200 chips remained stable within statistical uncertainties following readout at 270oC for 12 s. Thirty cycles of readout result in only a 4% loss in sensitivity, or 0.13% loss in sensitivity per readout. The total residual signal is, however, decreased from 7% at 240oC to 0.6% at 270oC. GR-200 can, therefore be used without intermediate pre-irradiation, high temperature, annealing, with acceptable stability, and with an acceptable residual signal if read out to 270oC. (author)
