Upper lattice plate

Description

Purpose: To prevent the degradation of a channel box due to fretting corrosion or galvanic corrosion at the contact faces between the upper lattice plate and the channel box. Constitution: Taking notice of the fact that the fretting corrosion and the galvanic corrosion are generated due to the difference in the hardness and the electrochemical properties between different kinds of metals such as SUS 304 stainless steels and zircaloy-4, those portions of the channel box and the upper lattice plate in contact with each other are made of zirconium or zirconium alloy. Specifically, (1) coating layers of zirconium or zirconium alloy are disposed to the surface of the upper lattice plate, (2) the upper lattice plate itself is made of zirconium or zirconium alloy or (3) a lattice plate protector made of zirconium or zirconium alloy is disposed to the contact portions with the channel box.
