CP violation at neutrino factories and future neutrino beams

Creators

  • 1. Geneva Univ. (Switzerland)

Description

Neutrinos have mass and they mix, this is a 'new force' beyond the standard model that could also generate proton decay and the baryon asymmetry of the universe. A neutrino factory complex and in a preliminary step a high intensity super-beam would offer the possibility to discover leptonic CP violation and to measure the mass and mixing properties of neutrinos very precisely. This series of slides is divided into 4 parts: -) neutrino factory overview, -) low energy neutrino super-beams and beta-beams (through the decay of 6He+H+ or 18Ne), -) neutrino factory studies, and -) new developments: EMCOD (European muon cooperation and oversight group), MICE (muon ionization cooling experiment), and ring cooler
