Oscillations and internal structure of the Sun

Creators

Description

The observations of synchronous long-period solar atmosphere oscillations which characterize the solar structure by means of radiotelescopes are popularized. The results of the experimental investigations of the deviation of solar shape from spherical one are reported. The results of measuring the Doppler shift of lines of the central portion of solar disk relative to the border one are also discussed. The experimental dependences for so= . lar surface radial velocity variation, synchronous magnetic field oscillations of the Sun as of a star, ;nd the Sun and Uranus brightness variations - all have a common repetition period equal to 2h 40 min. This result is in a good agreement with the calculated pulsation period of a homogeneous sphere having the Sun mass and radius. The intensity curves obtained for the border and central zones of the pulsating solar disk and for oscillations of radial velocity are presented. The observations of Sun luminosity and Uranus brilliancy variations which have been found to oscillate almost in synchronism are discussed
