Studies of the solution method for reactor Kinetics equations
Description
An analysis of the performance of some numerical methods which are employed in order to reduce the computing time in the process of obtaining solutions to nuclear reactor kinetics equations, are made. The methods which have been studied are: Pade schemes, Frequency Transformation and Temporal Synthesis. The investigation on the performance of the above mentioned methods is made based on models of point Kinetics and spacial Kinetics in 1 dimension. The applications and numerical examples presented try to simulate a PWR-type reactor by use of material parameters characteristical of this type of reactor. Several tests were made with each method, employing two types of transients: whithout material parameter variation during the transient, and with material parameter variation at a constant rate. Faz-se uma analise do desempenho de alguns metodos numericos que sao empregados com o objetivo de reduzir o tempo de obtencao de solucoes para as equacoes da cinetica de reatores nucleares. Os metodos estudados sao: Esquemas de Pade, Transformacao de Frequencias e Sintese Temporal. A investigacao acerca da performance dos metodos citados acima e feita baseada em modelos de cinetica pontual e de cinetica espacial em 1 dimensao. As aplicacoes e exemplos numericos apresentados procuram simular um reator do tipo PWR, atraves do uso de parametros materiais caracteristicos de reatores deste tipo. Varios testes foram realizados com cada metodo, empregando transientes de dois tipos: sem variacao de parametros materiais durante o transiente, e com variacao de parametro material a uma taxa constante.
