Description
For high-temperature gas cooled reactors with block-type fuels, their resistance against an earthquake is not fully ascertained yet. Aseismic design studies and also experiments must therefore be made when such a reactor plant is to be installed in areas of high seismicity. This report describes analytical and experimental studies on the seismic response of a block type fuel reactor core, including the following: aseismic core structure, the calculation model and calculation formulae, the effects of various design variables on response characteristics, and the desired block shape.
