Natural hydrogen: a geological curiosity or a major energy source for the future?
- 1. Academie des technologies (France)
- 2. Universite de Pau, E2S-UPPA, Projet 'solutions pour l'energie et l'environnement' (France)
Description
After having indicated the origin of the so-called 'natural' hydrogen, and briefly evoked the still uncertain assessments of the natural hydrogen flow, the author describes in which mineral and geological contexts hydrogen-releasing reactions occur. She more particularly describes the case of native hydrogen production by Hydroma in Mali. Then, she discusses present research orientations by evoking some peculiar sites presenting surface emissions of hydrogen.
