On-line method of determining utilization factor in Hg-196 photochemical separation process

Description

This patent describes a method for determining the utilization factor [U] in a photochemical mercury enrichment process (196Hg), it comprises measuring the relative 196Hg yield and flow rate by means of absorption spectroscopy and calculating U according to the following formula: U196 = Y196/Q196 where Y and Q refer, to the 196Hg product yield and 196 Hg feedstock flow rate, respectively
