Measurements of αs from ν-N deep inelastic scattering at CCFR

Description

Values of the strong coupling constant, αs, from the fit to the scaling violation of nucleon structure functions, F2 and xF3, and from the Gross-Llewellyn-Smith sum rule are presented. The resulting value of ΛM-barS-bar(4),NLO from the combined systematic fit on both F2 and xF3 from the CCFR experiment is 331 ± 24(exp) ± 13(HT) MeV which results the value of αs at Q2 = MZ2 of 0.119 ± 0.002(exp) ± 0.001(HT) ± 0.004(Scale). The preliminary value of αsNNLO(MZ2) from the GLS sum-rule analysis is 0.112-0.013+0.011(combined). These values are consistent with each other within their uncertainties and are in good agreement with other measurements of αs. (author)
