Study of totally disintegrated events caused by 4.5 A.GeV/c Si28 with heavy emulsion targets

Description
A study of the characteristics of relativistic charged particles produced in central Si28-AgBr interactions at 4.5 A.GeV/c has been carried out. It is observed that the maxima of the pseudorapidity η-distribution of relativistic charged particles shift towards higher values of η with increasing projectile mass. The results also reveal that the probability of the forward emission of relativistic charged particles is much higher than that for the backward emission in the lab system. Finally, the dependence of the mean normalized and reduced multiplicities on the average number of encounters, made by the projectile inside the struck nucleus, <ν>, and on the total available energy in the center-of-mass system, S, has also been investigated.
