Shape and response of polar nanoregions analyzed by diffuse scattering under electric field

Description
We analyzed the shape and response of polar nanoregions (PNRs) of a relaxor ferroelectric under a static electric field from X-ray diffuse scattering intensities measured using synchrotron radiation. The diffuse scattering intensities around each reciprocal lattice point were well reproduced using an ellipsoidal PNR model with the polarization along [110]. The electric field dependence of diffuse scattering intensities strongly couples with the piezoelectric lattice strain and ferroelectric polarization switching, and was explained by changes of volume ratios of the PNRs with different orientations. 放射光を用いて直流電場下で測定したリラクサー強誘電体のX線散漫散乱強度分布から,分極ナノ領域 (PNR) の形態と電場応答を解析した。各逆格子点周囲に観測された散漫散乱強度分布は,[110]に向いた分極を持つ楕円体型のPNRモデルを用いてよく再現された。散漫散乱強度分布の電場変化は,圧電格子歪みと強誘電分極反転に強く相関しており,配向の異なるPNRの体積分率の変化によって説明された。(著者)Additional details
