Behavior of sorption and thermal desorption of fission products from loaded metal oxide exchangers
Description
A new sublimation method for the concentration and purification of 99Mo, produced by the fission of 235U with thermal neutrons, has been developed to replace the present final decontamination steps in the various well established 99Mo separation processes. A distinct simplification and shortening of the actual procedure is obtained by combining the chromatographic sorption on the SnO2-exchanger with the direct thermal desorption of the Mo product from the oxide. Basierend auf der in den meisten Mo-99-Separationsprozessen ueblichen abschliessenden Sublimation des Produkts als Molybdaen(VI)oxid wurde ein neues Verfahren zur Mo-Konzentrierung und -endreinigung entwickelt. Durch Kombination der chromatographischen Mo-Fixierung an SnO2-Austauscher mit der direkten thermischen Desorption aus der festen Phase wird eine spuerbare Straffung und Vereinfachung der Prozessfuehrung ermoeglicht.
