In the search of better conditions to remove precursory material in the formation of disinfections sub-products with free chlorine, was found that the absorbance to the ultraviolet to 254 nm (AUV 254 nm) it is a parameter that can be used as non-specific measure, to estimate concentrations of precursory material, specifically humic substances, and also, like control instrument in the operations and previous processes to the disinfections with free chlorine.
