Description

Three different methods of estimating internal radiation doses to organs of human body are briefly described and reviewed. These are the method recommendated for calculation of dose equivalent by Committee 4 of the International Commission on Radiological Protection, the method developed for absorbed dose calculation by the Medical Internal Dose Committee of the Society of Nuclear Medicine (USA), and the method used in computing MPC values in sea waters and introduced as a specific activity approach by the National Academy of Science and the National Research Council (USA).
