The thickness measurements of magnetic layer on aluminum disc packs by energy dispersive X ray fluorescence analysis
- 1. Academia Sinica, Shanghai (China). Shanghai Inst. of Nuclear Research
Description
This paper discribes the thickness determination of magnetic layer on aluminum disc packs using 238Pu excited fluorescence X-rays of Fe. The method is nondestructive, highly precise and quick in operation. The principle of measurement, design of detection device elimination of interference factors and data treatment are discussed. The range of thickness measurement is 0.5-15 μm. The precision of the thickness measurement is better than 5% when thickness of coating is over 1 μm
