Optico-magnetic study of Stark sublevels of basic multiplet 7F6 of Tb3+ ion in Y3Al5O12

Description
Investigations into spectral and temperature dependences of magnetocircular luminescence polarization (MCLP) of paramagnetic Y3Al5O15 : Tb3+ garnet within 90-300 K temperature interval and 4800-5000 A wave length range are performed. The detected anisotropy of MCLP spectra measured under magnetic field H orientation along crystallographic directions [100] and [011] is linked both with 'Ising' character of Tb3+ ion behaviour in Y3Al5O12 paramagnetic garnet structure and with a possible occurrence of magnetic linear luminescence polarization at H parallel to [011]. 10 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs
