New additives for stabilization ZrO sub(2)-MgO system

Description

Based on the results before obtained of the zirconium dioxide with magnesium oxide help out by incorporation of the iron oxide contained, was done a systematic analysis with transitions metals. The results displayed that for magnesium concentrations (to the lowers already utilized to stabilize its), the transition metals Cr sub(2)O sub(3), Mn sub(2)O sub(3), CoO and NiO (to 0.10 and 0.35% mol) they conduced to the stabilization of the ZrO sub(2) to the cubic phase in the temperature 1450 sup(o)C. The nickel and manganese oxides showed better result on the effect of stabilization. (author)
