National uranium resource evaluation Bangor and Eastport quadrangles Maine
Description
The Bangor and East port 10 x 20 quadrangles, Maine, were evaluated to a depth of 1500 m for uranium favorability, using National Uranium Resource Evaluation criteria. The geologic environments emphasized were granites, Precambrian gneisses, continental sediments, and rhyolites. No areas favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits were found, although some granites have moderate radioactivity. Two granitic areas are unevaluated because there is some but not enough evidence for favorability
