Device for control rod driving
Description
Purpose: To enable satisfactory driving control for control rods by shortening the recovery time for the actual position indication for control rods upon scram. Constitution: A control rod and a driving mechanism therefor are constituted separately and the actual position of the control rod is indicated on a display depending on the rotation of a step motor for the mechanism. Upon usual operation, the control rod is driven at a low speed by way of the driving the step motor at a rated speed. While on the other hand, upon scram, scram water is injected into the driving mechanism to rapidly insert the control rod while separating it from the driving mechanism and driving the step motor at a speed greater than the rated speed to thereby shorten the recovery time for the actual position indication of the control rod.
