Design of a large acceptance analysing magnet for PKDELIS ECR ion source
Description
A large acceptance analysing magnet has been designed for analysing highly charged ions from the world's first high temperature superconducting ECR ion source PKDELlS. As the magnet will be operated on a high voltage platform, minimisation of the weight and cooling requirements have been given higher consideration even with some loss in the resolution. The magnet and the power supply are air-cooled. The design aspects are discussed and detailed calculations are reported. (author)
